Did you know the United States handles more than 48 million tons of freight every day of the year? We are a nation that consumes, produces and moves a lot of products. Spending in the material handling and logistics industry totaled $1.48 trillion in 2015, and represented 8 percent of annual gross domestic product (GDP). You could say the movement, handling and storage of goods is a big deal in our country.

Eastern Lift Truck Co., Inc. is proud to play a major role in this important, ever-changing and increasingly complex industry. We have been providing award-winning material handling and storage solutions for more than 45 years, and continue to evolve to meet the needs of our customers. One major change at Eastern Lift Truck Co. occurred in late 2015, when we were appointed the authorized Hyster forklift distributor for all of New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Northern Delaware and Southeastern New York state. This coveted appointment expanded our sales and service coverage into new places, including seaports and terminals.

U.S. ports face many challenges from a variety of elements including the availability of waterside access / channel depth, terminal size, length and number of berths, maintaining a strong network of modal connections, weather-related issues, and last, but certainly not least, material handling and storage capabilities. This is where Eastern Lift Truck Co. comes into play. As a Hyster dealer, we are now able to offer one of the most diverse ranges of lift trucks in the world. Hyster manufactures equipment with capacities ranging from a few thousand pounds to more than 100,000 pounds, including heavy duty, jumbo, and reachstacker container handling forklifts, all of which are utilized by ports and intermodal hubs.

Over the past two years, as Eastern Lift Truck Co. has begun to grow its partnerships with ports and terminals, we have been asked to provide specialized attachments, carts, chassis, containers, trailers, electric railroad shunting vehicles, terminal tractors and other related equipment and services. Our new Ports and Intermodal Support Services Division has been created to handle these requests and is headed by Sydney Eick (Director) and Carlyn Meyer (Sales Manager). We are excited to work with new and existing customers. Contact us for more information or a quote.
